Redesign of a hotel near the Brno Dam
Hotel Santon is a dominant of the Brno Dam since 1985. The client wanted the hotel to be redesigned in lightly industrial style, which was possible thanks to its modern architecture from prefabricated concrete panels. Typical industrial interior materials are metal, concrete, brick, wood, glass, ceramic tiles or leather in their authentic appearance. Other characteristics include industrial features, exposed design details, vintage accessories and neutral colours.
To minimize the financial means, some of the original furniture remained in the hotel's reception. Renovation of old heating system and doors has prevented wasting and disposal of various functional objects.
The design of the reception reflects the hotel's architecture and its terraces, as well as its closest surroundings – dam and green nature. The carpet line represents the Brno Dam, the stepped reception symbolizes the Hotel Santon and the vertical garden the surrounding countryside.
The walls of the hotel room feature water drops. Iconic chair DSW from the Eames couple appears in the hotel's restaurant.
Testimonials
I had the opportunity to choose from many variants and to adjust the hotel room to the satisfaction of our clients, management and staff. The meeting was in a friendly atmosphere and I was satisfied with the results. That is why we continued to work together in the realization of the hotel reception.
